ASMET is an organization founded in 2005 and representing a diverse array of small and medium businesses in tourism including sectors such as tour operators, hoteliers, restaurants, tourism professionals and numerous other service providers. ASMET has a membership of over 100, legally registered and licensed businesses by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority.

ASMET aims to be the voice of the SME sector to empower, promote and protect SME businesses in Sri Lanka while creating a tangible contribution towards the development of tourism in Sri Lanka in a responsible and sustainable manner. In this regard ASMET plays many roles from assisting with policy making to raising awareness, business development and formalizing businesses in the SME sector.
