- Continue to increase membership.
- Raise Awareness and facilitate Education.
- Skills Development and Capacity Building Workshops.
- Training in remote areas.
- Develop Alternate Tourism Products.
- Promote and Share Best Practices.
- Participate at trade exhibitions.
- Publicity and promotion of SME Products and Services in Tourism.
- Represent ASMET at SME forums.
- Lobby for:
- Recognition of ASMET in the new Tourism Authority.
- SME aspirations.
- Equitable distribution of resources and knowledge among SME’s.
- Protection of Society and Environment in tourism generating areas.
- Removal of negative Travel Advisories (local and international).
- Establish linkages and partnerships.
- Develop Standards to protect society, environment, and quality of product and Service.
- Develop Socially and Environmentally sound attitudes and behavior within the industry.
- Foster transparency and good governance in the industry.
- Assist to realize Mahinda Chintanaya and the Millenium Development Goals.
- Facilitate livelihood improvement of host communities in tourism generating areas.
- Unite the SME sector in Tourism and network all stakeholders.
- Support Peace Initiatives.
